Design direction is complete. Implementation is underway. These notes capture the current image system and can change as the build reveals new constraints.
Image system
Use a small set of fixed ratios so business pages and directory cards stay consistent even when source photography varies.

Implementation rules
- The container determines the crop, not the photograph. Use fixed aspect-ratio containers with
object-fit: cover. - Default to centered crops. Use per-image
object-position only when a face, product, or focal point needs adjustment. - Ask for the highest-resolution original available rather than screenshots or pre-cropped images.
- Avoid source images with text baked into them.
- One strong source photo can be reused in multiple contexts through different crops.
- Do not resize the interface to accommodate inconsistent photography; normalize photography to the interface.

Current state
This is a handoff state, not a final archive. If implementation exposes a design problem, the work can move back into design revision and then forward into development again.
